WAT CHEDI HAK (วัดเจดีย์หัก)
Wat Chedi Hak or the "Monastery of the Broken Stupa" was located off the city island in the northern area of Ayutthaya in Pho Sam Ton
Sub-district of Bang Pahan in Ayutthaya Province.

The temple was located in between
Wat U Taphao and Wat Khok Kham, on the east bank of the old Lopburi River, on a stretch called Khlong Ban
Muang (Khlong Pho Sam Ton) today.

With the exception of some broken bricks, fragments of sema stones of the ordination hall and pieces of broken Buddha images, nothing remains of
this old temple. Some digging must be still ongoing in situ, as we found fresh traces.

In the vicinity we met a local who told us that the all the (good) bricks of this former temple had been broken out and transported by boat to
Bangkok in the beginning of the 1950's. He said that only broken bricks were left and some sema stones remained (as confirmed with what we saw).

The historical background and period of construction of the former monastery are not known.

Wat Chedi Hak is situated in Geo Coord: 14° 25' 17.21" N, 100° 33' 3.74" E.
