| WAT PHO NGAM (วัดโพงาม) |

| Wat Pho Ngam or the Monastery of the Beautiful Bodhi Tree was located on the city island in the eastern part of Ayutthaya in Ho Ratanachai Sub-district in a locality called Bang Ian. The monastery was situated between Khlong Khu Na Mueang or Front City Canal (at present the Pa Sak River) and Khlong Nai Kai (Khlong Makham Riang), just north of Wat Jan and south of Wat Pa Thon. There are no traces anymore visible of the monastery above ground level. Historical data about the monastery and its construction are unknown. The site is only indicated on a mid-19th century map and does not feature anymore on later maps. Wat Pho Ngam should have been located in approximative geographical coordinates: 14° 21' 21.19" N, 100° 34' 43.91" E. |
