Wat Khok Ta Chuai is situated off the city island in the eastern area of Ayutthaya, in the Phai Ling Sub-district.
The site consists of a brick mound, a remnant of a former temple encroached by vegetation.
The defunct monastery was situated north of Wat Chedi Yot Hak, south of Wat Wihan Satru, east of Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon - Chedi 2 and on the same horizontal axis as the latter.
Its historical background and period of construction are unknown.
Khun Chin indicated the site during a visit to the area in March 2016 CE.
