WAT RANG (5)





Wat Rang (1) was located off the city island in the northern area of Ayutthaya in the Khlong Sra Bua Sub-district in the Thung Kaeo area (2). The monastery was north of Wat Intharam (active temple) and Wat Wihan Thong (ruin).


There are no traces anymore visible of the monastery above ground level.


Historical data about the monastery and its construction are unknown.


The site is only shown on a 1974 CE Fine Arts Department (FAD) map and a 2007 CE FAD GIS map.


Based on the 2007 CE FAD map, some temple remains were excavated in geographical coordinates: 14° 22' 2.39" N, 100° 34' 1.28" E.
